Little playtime with The King

Daddy, Emilie, and Emory King cruised up to Chick-Fil-A last night, while the ladies were at a Baby Shower.  We had a big time eating chicken nuggets, fries, and drinking lemonade.  We did a little playing on the playground (indoor, thankfully!) as well.  Of course, in typical Daddy fashion, he let Emory fall on the carpeted floor and bust her little lip a bit!  Oops.  She seemed to bounce back nicely though.

Some much-needed yardwork...

Finally after 35 lawn bags last Sunday and 10 hours in the yard...the abyss is cleared out and looks so much better!  These pics don't quite show how much better it looks, but it's like a whole new front yard.  Now if we can only get some sidewalks!

Lots of fun for Em a few wknds ago...

Been a couple of weeks since I posted, but Emilie had a big Sat/Sun in Atlanta two weekends ago.  We had the Meadowbrook play group on Saturday morning at the Hippo Hopp...a bouncehouse, basically.

On Sunday, we helped host a get-together over at Jamie and Brad's.

The new SEAT!

So if you've spent any time with Emilie at all, you know that she is a big fan of "seats" as she calls them. Big ones, small ones, you name it, she loves em' all. We've caught her on more than one occasion seeking out a good place to rest her laurels. For example, she has tried to fit her tushie into a very tiny chair from a doll house, and we often catch her just hanging out on the bottem step of our staircase out home, often times with her buddy Lamby. Or on the beach, she'll spend a fair amount of her time trying out each chair to see which she likes best. So Matt and I decided that it was high time she get her own special seat for the den. It arrived at our doorstep last night, and suffice it to say Emilie was thrilled once we got it set up. And again this morning when she came down stairs... here are a few pics taken from my cell phone.

4th of July in St. Simons

Little late getting these up but we enjoyed a great trip to St. Simons w/ the Edwards family over the 4th of July weekend! Emilie had a great time hanging out with her cousins. She danced in the kitchen with Carrie, learned about silly bands from Mary James and got some baseball tips from Will. We all had a wonderful time, even got to hear a great band play. ; )

Emilie's first week of school ended with a 4th of July parade in the parking lot.  She had a big time riding around in the radio wagon, until she spotted us.  Then she wanted out!  She's adjusting quite well for such a big change, and we're certainly proud of her!

Our good buddy Damon Evans, UGA's AD, got arrested for DUI about 1/2 mile from our house last night...right by the Pike Nursery on Roswell Road.

Nice job there Damon, nice job.
