First day at the big girl school!

Emilie started at Brookhaven United Methodist this past Monday! So far, aside from a few teary drop-offs, she seems to love it! She's learning about washing hands, and play time, and snack time at the table, and all kinds of fun things! They do lots of cute things, like today is Pajama Day where all the kids wear their PJ's to school, and tomorrow is the big 4th of July parade where the kids get to ride around the parking lot in wagons, on bikes, and even in their cribs for the little babies! Emilie tells us all the things she likes so far, like "stickers" and "play" and "blocks", she seems to be really enjoying it! (Despite that fact that she was not really in the mood for taking pictures on her first morning!)

A little more Hilton Head

I know matt's already posted a couple, but I wanted to share a few more pictures from Hilton Head. We had a great time and Emilie loved playing with her cousins all week. She even put on a few "story/sing-a-long" performances for them before bedtime! Thanks to Wein for organizing everything and congratulations to mom and dad on 40 years! Now we're looking forward to our next trip to St. Simons this weekend w/ the Edwards!

all neat and tidy...

Emilie seems to have a little bit of her daddy in her, in that she likes things to be tidy. Daddy's not a clean freak, as much as AM would like for my desire for tidyness to also include. Emilie decided that all her dolls needed to be organized on the stairs a couple of weeks ago. I like it!

back from Hilton Head...

We were over in Hilton Head this past week for a full week with the Dooley fam. We had a sweet house to fit all 23 Dooley's, with a nice pool, and just a block from the beach. I've actually never really been on Hilton Head's beach, but it's great.

We got there on Saturday afternoon. did the beach on Sunday. I golfed at Shipyard on Monday...shot 78, best I've played in a while. 2 over thru 13. Then had a bog, double, par, bog, par finish. Could've even been better, but was happy to play well. I got some stomach bug and was out of commission on Tuesday. Wed the ladies went shopping and Em and I walked for about 2 hours on the beach. We went to the beach on Thur and Fri, and then back to Atlanta on Sat.

Emilie had an absolute blast in the ocean, especially the shallow part. She didn't so much care for getting out there with the big waves, but loved sitting down in the shallow area, playing with the sand, etc. She's like me in that she doesn't love for sand to get all over her, but she still really likes it! Lucky for her, we go back again this wknd to SSI for a long weekend.

She's had enough of us

Ol' Emilie needed something to take off the edge of dealing with the two of us, so she decided to break into the liquor cabinet. This was her first trip in there. Obviously, I'll have to lock it up a little tighter going forward! The main problem is she can actually twist bottle tops now...that poses a problem when it comes to miniatures especially!

It's steamy out there...

Even Emilie needed to cool down last night...man, this heat is pretty unbelieveable.

An oldie but a goodie...

(Hughes, Graham, D Todd, Eddie, Ben, King, Geriner, and Hawkins)

I was going through my work inbox earlier this week, trying to delete some things that were taking up a lot of space, and came across our only pic of "Balls Deep 2006 (I think)" We did this in Savannah, staying at Geriner's place in Tybee. This was on Saturday...after a big Friday night, and an even bigger Saturday night to come...

Good times,

A few pics(some old, some new)

To piggy back on Matt's last post, I just thought I'd post up a few of my favorite Emilie pictures that some of you maybe haven't seen. They date back as far as February, but are still worth a peek.

(Emilie playing in the snow a few months back)

(Just a funny pic of Emilie after she snatched a bottle of chocolate syrup out of the bottom shelf in the fridge. Don't worry she didn't have the bottle very long!)

(Finally, just a good classic pic of her laughing like she loves to do!)

Carrie's farm party!

We had a fun wknd at the lake and down in in Sville as well. Carrie turned 3 last week, and we spent Saturday in Sville with her friends and the fam. Brian, dad, and I snuck off for some golf after the party...I fired a smooth 87. 4 over on 14 holes...11 over the other 4...terrible.

Emilie had big fun at the party. Here she is doing her bunny impression.

Garden's coming along...

I was out this morning before taking Em to May’s, and we took some pics of the veggies that we have growing in the garden.

(beans, of course)

(little cucumber action)

(tomatoes, still a ways to go)

(squash, these are the coolest so far. Nice flower on the end of them)

A new 'do

I was trying to slick back Emilie's hair, Pat Riley style, last night, but the picture doesn't do it justice. Still a funny face regardless...

PCB 2010 baybee!!

We had a really good weekend down in “PCB baybee!!!”, or at least close to there. AM had a work conference at the Marriott Bay Point, which is on the E side of PC, so we headed down on Friday.

We didn’t do anything crazy, just hung out at the pool, went out to Shell Island for a bit, which is cool b/c it’s like you’re at the ocean, but there are no high-rises behind you.

(Emilie on the way to Shell Island…Daddy was quietly freaking out a little bit here.)

(Emster loved the boardwalk (where are the rails?!?) and would NOT let us hold her hand).

We also went down to Rosemary Beach for dinner one night, and did indeed cruise the strip on Sunday night…just to see where Emilie WILL NOT be spending Spring Break 16 years from now.

Emster is starting to get a hang of the pool…she was kicking a little bit. Lots more work to do before she’s the women’s version of Michael Phelps though.

(First time I’ve ever seen a rainbow around the Sun…weird…it went all the way around, but my camera phone couldn’t quite capture that.)

All in all, a nice long weekend…!
