Christmas!

We've had a great 10 days as we spent Christmas in WP the wknd of the 20th, and then were at the Dooley's on th 23-24th.  We then had Emilie and Pete's Christmas at our house on Christmas morning.  Em has really been into it this year, loving looking for the Elf, talking about Santa Claus all the time, and really enjoyed opening presents! 

We then went to Sandersville for lunch and a few presents on Christmas day, and drove back to Atlanta in the snow!  First white Christmas in Atlanta in over 100 years!

Emilie had a big time on Saturday morning making cookies with Mommy!  She did a bit more eating of the M&M's than anything, to nobody's surprise.

Sidewalks coming along, finally

They are actually done with the sidewalks on portions of Windsor Pkwy, but not in front of our house.  However, they are finally making some progress, which is exciting.  It seems that they are going to slope our yard rather steeply right in front of the sidewalks.  They are also going to have to tear up the driveway a bit...

James Peter Edwards

On Monday, November 29th at 7:22 a.m., we welcomed James Peter Edwards to our family!  Pete has been with us just over a week now, and is doing great, along with his mommy.  He enjoys sleeping, eating, pooping, and more sleeping.  Big sister Emilie is also enjoying her new little brother, for the most part!

We're so excited to have a little boy Edwards, and can't wait to enjoy life with Pete!

Pat Kenny's wedding weekend...

The Mrs's decided to stay at home, rather than sit on I-16 for 5 hours, so I went to Pat's wedding hans solo.  It was a great time hanging with a lot of folks I haven't seen in some time.  The wedding was out at Epworth, and the reception was at a nice house just off the village.  Here are a couple of shots from the reception...

Willie Wright - Noseguard

After two gut-wrenching regular season losses to the same team, the Howard Sheppard's pulled out a miraculous win in the playoff finals of pee-wee football last night in S'ville.  Reports have been surfacing abound the Internet of a fierce 45 lb Noseguard who was wreacking havoc in the opponent's backfield all night.

Are we ever going to get sidewalks?

After almost 2 years of back and forth...we finally are getting closer to getting sidewalks.  However, we're still not there yet.  They've torn up our front yard...but no grading has been done yet.  Someday, someday...

After 20+ years as the beloved Atlanta Braves Manager, we finally bid adieu to the only manager most of us have ever really known, Bobby Cox.  If you grew up in the South in the 80's and 90's, you grew up an Atlanta Braves fan.  And by default, you grew up loving the Skipper.  His constant backing of his players, his rants with Umps, the always interesting, and sometimes befuddling, postseason decisions.  It's been a helluva 20 years, no doubt. 

Bobby led us to 14 division titles, and one World Championship.  Sure, there should have been more, and Bobby is in part to blame for that, but you can't discredit the man's desire to win, love for his team and the Atlanta Braves.  He has helped take our franchise from the doldrums of baseball, to the most popular team in the country not named the Yankees or the Sox.  These last 20 years have brought about many, many great times, and certainly a lot of heartache, but that's what sports do.   

We'll miss you #6...

Two year old!

 Hard to believe but two years ago today, our little lady bug was born! While the last two years have gone by so fast, it's hard to imagine that there was a time that she wasn't around! Emilie is growing like a weed, learning new things every day, and is constantly making us smile. We had such a good time over the last week celebrating her birthday. A fun trip to Burts Pumpkin Farm over the weekend, a birthday breakfast celebration this morning, and a fun party at her school with all of the other October birthdays in her class. Our little girl was worn out by bedtime tonight, but still had enough energy to give us a sweet "Night, night- I love you" before she fell asleep. Happy 2nd Birthday Emilie!

 Emilie has gotten much more excited about Georgia Tech and football this year! She loves to hollar "football" whenever there is a game on TV and even does a little hollering and cheering at the TV like her daddy. We've take her to one game so far and she seemed to enjoy it. I think her favorite thing was trying to spot "Buzzzz" wherever he went around the stadium.

A trip to Highlands

A few weeks back, we decided to take a short Saturday night trip to Highlands, NC since we were going to Bailey Brackett's birthday party up in Clarkesville the following day. We had a great time, went on a hike, stayed at the historic Highlands Inn, and had some good pizza and delicious dessert on the porch at the Inn that evening. Emilie had a blast up there watching all of the cars drive down Main Street and waving to them!

It's been a few weeks...

Since I posted.  Unfortunately, you didn't miss too much.  We've been around the past few weekends.  Headed to WP to get slapped around by some rednecks in golf this weekend.  Good times. 

We did get to take Mark's boat out the first weekend of August.  Fortunately, I didn't wreck it.  Em's a huge fan.  She's dying to get on one of the tubes and ride...maybe next year.

It seems well overdue that we "officially" announce the soon to be newest member of the family on our blog. Affectionately known to us right now as "Blue"-named when he/she was supposedly the size of a blueberry. This baby Edwards #2 is due on November 29,2010- just after Thanksgiving! We won't know if Emilie will have a little brother or a little sister til the big day, but we are all excited to find out!

Daddy, Emilie, and Emory King cruised up to Chick-Fil-A last night, while the ladies were at a Baby Shower.  We had a big time eating chicken nuggets, fries, and drinking lemonade.  We did a little playing on the playground (indoor, thankfully!) as well.  Of course, in typical Daddy fashion, he let Emory fall on the carpeted floor and bust her little lip a bit!  Oops.  She seemed to bounce back nicely though.

Some much-needed yardwork...

Finally after 35 lawn bags last Sunday and 10 hours in the yard...the abyss is cleared out and looks so much better!  These pics don't quite show how much better it looks, but it's like a whole new front yard.  Now if we can only get some sidewalks!

Been a couple of weeks since I posted, but Emilie had a big Sat/Sun in Atlanta two weekends ago.  We had the Meadowbrook play group on Saturday morning at the Hippo Hopp...a bouncehouse, basically.
