This is how we do it...

So sometimes in the mornings when Matt and I are both trying to get ready for work, and get the kids dressed and fed, things can get a little hectic. If the kids both wake up at different times, its not so bad. If they both wake up at the same time, we have to get a little creative. Here's what I found the other morning- Matt's creative solution to containing both kids and keeping them out of trouble while we get ready...

Both kids in Pete's crib- they don't seem to mind do they?

Good weekend!

We had a busy...good weekend.  At first, we thought that we were settling in for the Series finale of unarguably my favorite TV Show ever - Friday Night Lights.  We then realized that NBC had tricked us a bit, and that next week is actually the finale.  What a great show.  It pains me that it's ending.

Saturday was a busy day, as we got ready for a party for Jamie Pfister, who's moving to VA.  Put together a few barstools, hung a mirror, did a bunch of yardwork, etc.

Sunday was a fun day.  Blueberry pancakes by AM, a walk in the woods on the Big Preserve trail on Roswell Road...

AM fording a stream with Pete in the Jeep stroller!

Lil' Miss Pigtails bouncing around

We then went to the Morgan Falls Dam.  The park overlooks the Bull Sluice Lake, which is a small reservoir of the Chattahoochee River.  Sandy Springs recently built a fantastic playground there, and this was our first time to it.  It's the best playground I've ever been too...and one of the best parts is the astroturf!

The little girl is getting much more brave these days!  She climbed up 2
of these and was like 15 feet up there.

Pete hanging out in the comfy turf/grass
We came back home for some napping.  J&B are up for Will's baseball camp, and to pick up their new golden retriever, Honey, who is just 7 weeks old!  She's only 4 lbs and is precious!  Not surprisingly, Emilie was still a little skittish around her.

7 week old Honey
We then did a little late Sunday Church, and then finally dinner and bed for the kiddos.

This morning I took Will to his first day of GT baseball camp.  There are about 100 players there.  It should be a fun week for him!

What's up with GT's baseball field?  You can't see anything here, but
Will's somewhere off in the distance doing some stretching

Avery's one smart little girl...

Avery Podraza singing the Little Mermaid

Avery has recently just turned 2, and can already pretty much sing all the words to "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid.  It's scary how smart this little girl is going to be!  Luckily, Em gets to hang out with her a lot...hopefully some of her smarts will rub off.

Look at this stuff, isn't it neat?

Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has everything?

Look at this trove, treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here, you'd think
Sure, she's got everything

I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got who's-its and what's-its galore
You want thing-a-mabobs?
I've got twenty
But who cares? No big deal. I want more

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see 'em dancin'
walkin' around on those
Whaddya call 'em? Oh, feet

Flippin' your fins, you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumpin', dancin'
Strollin' along down the
What's that word again? Street

Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free, wish I could be
Part of that world

What would I give if I could live
Outta these waters?
What would I pay to spend a day
Warm on the sand?

Betcha on land they understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women, sick of swimmin'
Ready to stand

And ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions and get some answers
What's a fire, and why does it
What's the word? Burn

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love?
Love to explore that shore up above
Out of the sea, wish I could be
Part of that world

Random...

Em has become a big fan of dipping each one of her fingers into something, and then licking them off one by one.  Awesomeness...

At Chica La
We went to the Braves game for a work outing.  Got to sit in the Bobby Cox Suite.  It was solid.
View from the suite...Bravos just broke out the brooms on a 4-game
series against the Rock.

July 4th wknd...

We had another super fun 4th of July weekend w/ the Edwards and Wrights in St. Simons. This was Pete's first chance to dig into the sand and he LOVED it! He had no qualms about rolling around, eating up, and just plain getting covered in that sand on the beach. He did not however love the hosing off he received after leaving the beach.

Emilie had a great time playing with her cousins as well, and even got to ride a boogie board for a bit out in the ocean. Here's a cute pic of all of them together.

Our condo was also great in Ocean Walk and had us right next to a duck pond which Emilie loved- as we got to feed them a few times. On the morning of the 4th, Matt and I, along with Ben and Sarah ran the Sunshine Festival 5K which turned out to be pretty fun. And since the Wrights have a new golfcart this year they were able to participate in the annual parade- all decked out!

Our view of the fireworks at the light house wasn't so great this year due to the high tide, but we saw a few that they fired off, and once again the boys didn't fail to entertain us with the stellar fireworks provided by Nanna . Emilie and I enjoyed them...

All in all, another great year. Can't wait to do it again!

The Buggyman...

Little man is just over 7 months now, and has finally upgraded from riding in the carseat on shopping trips to actually getting up in the carrier.  AM says he's a big fan...

hold on tight little guy!
