Three years!

That's right- three years ago today Matt and I walked down the aisle and said our "I do's" to each other. I love to think back on the day and remember all the fun, and unusual, memories from the weekend! At about this time, we had just finished the ceremony and were probably either at the church or the Waterside, but still in the midst of taking LOTS of pictures. Or maybe we were just minutes from being introduced as husband and wife for the first time and sharing our first dance! I remember all the fun of the weekend, having all of our family and friends together at one of our favorite places- Lake Oconee- and being so nervous and stressed and excited and happy all at the same time! After all was said and done; a fabulous toast by my groom, a lovely ceremony by Fr. Ryan, and even a little "splash" in the lake, I wouldn't change a single thing about the weekend. It's three years later and we are happier than ever with each other, with our little Emilie, and all the new memories that lie ahead. I love you Matt!

Finally getting some blooms on the Hydrangea...

After no blooms last year, we're back for round 2 of the Hydrangea. I thought I might've bought a dud, or not done something right, but I think we're going to be in good shape here in a couple of weeks!

The garden took a beating last Monday with all the rain. The okra, peppers, and pumpkin were pretty much washed away. We're going to get some nice cucumber, squash, beans, and tomatoes, though...and hopefully still might get some carrots and a few okra.

The Emster got a little loose in turn two yesterday, working on changing a tire...which she often enjoys doing! Lil' E has already been on the horn, he needs a new crew chief.

The girls were treated to Chick-Fil-A lunch for "Abry" (aka Avery's) birthday over at Miss May's. Looks like Emilie enjoyed her Chicken and cake!

Let's grow somethin...

Our first attempt at gardening started this past weekend. A Friday night trip to Pike, and about 7 hours in the garden on Sat/Sun, has resulted in seeds in the ground…now we’ll see if we can nurture them to actually vegetables!

We’ve got carrots, okra, peppers, green beans, cucumbers, squash, pumpkin, and tomatoes…along with some herbs and flowers. I’m sure I’ll screw this up before too long, but maybe we’ll get lucky!



Emilie and I got some good time together while AM was kicking butt on the tennis court yesterday. She took in her first GT baseball game, and seemed to enjoy it pretty good. Jackets swept the Clemson Tigas…this just in, we’re good.

And so is J-Hey. Another game, another walk-off hit by the Kid. Stud.

New phrases from the lil' lady...

"I know"..."all gone"..."the end"...just some things that she's started to say very well this week. Emilie's responding very good to questions, and understands what you're asking her a lot of the time, which is nice!

She's had eczema the last couple of weeks, but it's starting to get a lot better. She looks like she's in heaven when we scratch her arms and legs though b/c even though she can do most all things with her hands, scratching is supposedly not something they pick up for a while.

We had a good wknd, hiking in Tallulah falls on Saturday, on her new backpack carrier that we just got her. This is one of 5 wknds a year that they allow kayakers down the river, and we saw a couple of nasty spills!

On Sat aft. we had a birthday party for Jamie Podraza, and Em got to hang out with Parker, Avery, and Madeline Ledom. She had a big time!

Grass is really coming in, in the backyard, so that's exciting. We're hoping to get some plants in the ground this weekend, and see if we can actually grow anything.

I've got to work on my layout tools here...think it's better to do it in word, and then copy it over. Will try that next time...
